Collaborative Work

Nautical Newport

In early 2018, I had the opportunity to work as a freelance designer for Delin Design, an agency in Providence, Rhode Island. During my time there, I worked on several projects. These included a t-shirt for their sister-company, Red Dot, as well as logo designs for other clients.

I designed this shirt as part of their collection of all things Rhode Island. I took a simplistic approach to the nautical alphabet and spelled out “Newport RI” in a monochrome color palette.

Woonasquatucket River Greenway 2018

One of the best trails in Rhode Island is the  Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway. In 2018, the  Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council contacted Delin Design to create a shirt for the 9th annual Woony River Ride. This ride is for cyclists of all levels to help raise funds to expand the local bike path.

The Council requested a 2-color design to highlight the beautiful nature along the trails. For my design, I took the Greenway’s logo and added in subtle imagery of greenery and animals found in nature. I chose to feature my design on a green shirt to contrast the blue from the existing logo.

My design was not picked to be the official t-shirt. However, the outlined elements were incorporated into the final shirt.

Mill City Haunts

The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council requested a logo for their annual Mill City Haunts Halloween attraction. It would be used on all promotional materials for the event. They wanted it to represent America’s original Mill City, located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

I based my design off of the mills. I featured a skyline of Slater Park, Slater Mill, and the famously-haunted City Hall. All places represented were on the attraction route.

While my design was not chosen, the clients liked the simplicity.  These designs could influence future logos for the Council.
